A Study on HRM Practices and Its

Implication on Employees Performance in

Apollo Hospital

Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to test alternative conceptualizations of the relationship between

systems of human resource management (HRM) practices and organizational effectiveness.

HRM is a series of integrated decisions that form the employment relationship their quality

contributes to the ability of the organization and the employees to achieve their objectives. The

authors describe a framework suggesting a complex relationship between HRM practices

and organizational effectiveness, test this approach empirically in a small sample of Apollo

Hospitals, and compare the results to those derived using other approaches prevalent in the

strategic HRM literature.

INTRODUCTION:

Human resources are a term used to describe

the individuals who comprise the workforce

of an organization, although it is also

applied in labor economics to, for example,

business sectors or even whole nations.

Human resources is also the name of the

function within an organization charged

with the overall responsibility for

implementing strategies and policies relating

to the management of individuals (i.e. the

human resources). The people that staff and

operate an organization"; as contrasted with

the financial and material resources of an

organization. Human Resources is also the

organizational function that deals with the

people and issues related to people such as

compensation, hiring, performance

management, and training. A Human

Resource is a single person or employee

within your organization. Human resources

are a term used to refer to how people are

managed by organizations Human Resource

Management Practices.

HRM Practices in Departments

Since launching HRM movement in 1994 in

the civil service, the Civil Service Bureau

has sponsored and individual departments

have introduced various HRM initiatives.

In taking HRM forward, we need a strategic

and integrated approach in managing people

effectively for performance. In taking a

strategic and integrated approach, HRM is

linked to the department's strategic direction

in a systematic way.
