Abstract

One of the problems in a Long Distance Relationship (LDR) is to fulfill the needs of intimacy and communication. Therefore, commitment are required to maintain the relationship even if there is a conflict. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between emotional intimacy and commitment among the LDR couples in terms of social media which used. This study involved 441 participants randomly obtained through online questionnaires (google forms). There are 5 valid item on Emotional Intimacy Scale (α Cronbach = 0.778). There are 13 valid item on Commitment Measure (α Cronbach = 0.850). Data analysis using Pearson Correlation techniques and One-way ANOVA. The results showed that there is a correlation between emotional intimacy and commitment in couples undergoing LDR.
