Abstract
The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government announced its first new five years Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), 2015-20 on 1st April, 2015 replacing the earlier policy (2009-14). The new five year FTP (2015-20) provides a framework for to the exporters and units in Special Economic Zones (SEZ) for increasing exports of goods and services as well as generation of employment and increasing value addition in the country, in keeping with the “Make in India” vision of Prime Minister. The New Foreign Trade policy (FTP, 2015-20) link rules, procedures and incentives for exports and imports with other initiatives such as “make in India”, “Digital India”, and “Skills India”.
