Abstract
Organic food is always been the topic of discussion whether it comes on healthy diet or being in
vegetarian diet. Food which includes Dairy, Vegetable and lentils not only gives macronutrients
to the body it ensures healthy lifestyle as well.Nowdays Consumption of Vegetarian food is
increased but production is limited when it comes on Organic production. Nearly two decades
ago we used to get fresh vegetables and fruits which was having minimum influence of
pesticides and other harmful chemicals, Nowadays all the vegetables most sprayed with
pesticides included tomatoes,cucumbers,capsicums,potatoes,spinach etc.
Potatoes which are available in the supermarket are packed with some active chemical
ingredients compared to the two decades ago when it was treated with nearly zero chemicals. A
regular intake of fresh fruits is extremely healthy for the body. Fruits contain all the necessary
vitamins and minerals which also fulfil the body need. But how safe and healthy are these fruits
and vegetables it depends on our lifestyle, availability and purchasing power.
Review of literature.
To be able to understand the impact of organic food on the society and to find out the image of
normal vs organic food among the people. Leafy green vegetables is packed with lots of
nutrition’s including (Iron, fiber and vitamin) which is well accepted by all age categories but
while purchasing the green leafy vegetables the question which raised here is this vegetables are
organic? The roadside vegetable sellers are selling the cheaper and fresher as compare the
supermarket. The reason is the frequent selling of the fruits and vegetables they don’t store their
product it’s only possible by their practice, knowledge of market and experience of choosing the
right one. (Mie Axel & Wivstad Maria) discussed the difference between conventional and
organic food but according to the study there is no such direct answer because no such live
examples exits which can prove the impact and it is really a hard task to come to conclusion
because there is no such proven record that the person has consumed the organic food entire his
life.
Introduction Food in which our life is purely depends and definition of nutrition’s are well
explained that’s one and only organic food. (Rembiałkowska E,Średnicka D.) the trust in the
food now drastically low the reason could be adulteration, food scandals, usage of chemicals in
the food. Increased population also one of the major reason where farmers and production
companies are giving treatment of pesticides and herbicides to the crops. Nowadays crops which
used to be grown once in the year now that is growing twice in the year and the yield also

increased because of chemical treatment and GMF (Genetically modified food) also one of the
reason that our market is able to fulfill the supply of non-seasonal foods throughout the year.
There are few factors which explains the personality of organic food- Life style-Todays lifestyle is lavish and we have crossed many decades where we used to get
chemical free food products now concept has been changed hotels, theme restaurants, and
specialty restaurants are selling their product by the touch of organic food. Don’t know exactly
the level of organic elements in those food products but to attract the guest they do maintain the
gardens where they grow few herbs and vegetables.
Purchasing power- many online sites claims about the supplies of organic food and they charge
high for such kind of product and all the ranges are available there from lentils till seeds and for
common people to check whether its organic or conventional is a challenging task.
Organic Fruits and vegetables outlet- Few organic outlets have been opened in the metro cities
they are showcasing their strength i.e. Organic food . Expensive s compare to the other food
available in the market.
Convenience food- because of increased population, busy schedule and choice of less
consumption of time in food preparation motivates companies to come up with the product
which can be prepared in no time or less time. This food doesn’t have the real organic food taste
but the addition of food additives, substitute and some preservative makes it more
mouthwatering and attractive. Convenience food also played crucial role in inventing new
technologies. Updated technology related to Molecular gastronomy is sous vide in which food is
well vacuum packed under suitable circumstances and later it is kept in boiling water for further
cooking. This process preserves all the nutrition, flavor of food and makes meat tenderer.
Easy to access – cities those are connected by villages can get the fresh vegetables every day
because farmer and sellers comes to the cities and sell their product on daily basis. One live
example is in Assam where each day tribal people comes to the cities and sell their organic fruits
and vegetables. They bring all the locally farmed fruits and vegetables ( we can call it organic)
and selling price also very reasonable as compare to the regular vegetable sellers.
