The Studying Issues Of Biological Significance Of Chemical Elements

Annotation: This article involves the improvement of the teaching
methodology of chemistry, based on the teaching of the biological significance of
the elements in the “Chemistry” course at higher educational institutions. At the
same time, the importance of chemical elements in plant life is developed and the
interest of students is reflected.
Key words: chemical elements, biological importance, chemistry, useful
properties, cotton, potassium, carbon, hydrogen, phosphorus, increase the interest.
Chemistry is one of the most complex subjects in the natural-scientific
section of the subjects. Therefore, a chemistry teacher should always work on
subject, improving his teaching methods and increasing his students’ interest in
chemistry. It is one of the ways to develop students’scientific outlook, that to
increase the students interest in learning of the chemistry is essential by explaining
the biological significance of each substance or additional group elements and their
connections in the classroom.

Thus, the practical significance of substances in expanding the chemical
thinking of students is explained, so it is the fact that matter is important for flora
and fauna, the importance of the matters for human life is interesting for every
student, and it is one of the main tasks of the present pedagogue to explain to
students that it’s hard to imagine life without them.
The practical significance of each elements theme in chemistry lessons can
be divided into the following groups:
Biological value;
The importance in agriculture;
importance in production;
Importance in Medicine;
The role in pharmaceuticals;
Significance in transport industry;
The importance of the perfumery industry, etc., other data should be widely
explained to students in the lesson[1].
In detail, we emphasize the biological significance of the above groups in
agriculture.
It is known that living organisms are separated into micro and macro elements,
depending on the number of chemical elements, found in the cell. These elements play
a specific role in normal metabolism in the body. During the teaching of each topic in
chemistry of elements, it is important to emphasize the biological significance of the
materials, including the distribution of matter in nature, methods of separation of the
natural compounds, their physical and chemical properties and their use.
The importance of some chemical elements and their connections, as well as the
understanding of chemical phenomena serves to link biological significance of matter

in the life of plants, soil, microorganisms, human and animals in the course of
chemistry.
Implementation of these tasks should be done in the followings.
1. It is necessary to point out the quantity of chemical elements in the organisms
of plants and animals in studying the biological significance. In the conditions of
Uzbekistan, it is suitable to show it as an example of cotton plant. Students should
pay attention to the fact that cotton is constructed from carbon, oxygen and hydrogen
as well as other plants. These three elements make up 95% of the plants. Elements of
cinders residue are found in cotton plants such as nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium,
silicon, aluminum, magnesium, sodium, sulfur and others. In the study of organic
chemistry, students can be given some concepts about the amounts of organic
compounds in cotton plants. For example, the presence of cellulose and some other
non-nitrogen substances in the cotton plant can be given as data for students, so these
matters together constitute 70% mass of the plant. Oil (fat) and oily substances are
about 9% in cotton, protein and other nitrogen-containing compounds are 7% and ash
is nearly 6%. Cotton fibers contain 90% of cellulose. This information will help to
investigate the biological value of the elements, depending on the education material
and it will be possible to formulate a single concept about the chemical composition
of the cotton plant in the end, it is explained, when the discussion will be opened
about chemical element or its compounds.
Students can understand the chemical influence to plants and they can know the
plant’s requirement for some chemical elements and it was arisen a conscious and
scientifically based understanding of students.
2. It is necessary to pay particular attention to the biological significance of the
soil in its nature in the study of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and carbon. The
students should know, that every year 80-90% of elements of total stock goes out
with cotton products and don’t come back[2-5].
