The investigator has made an attempt to uncover the ongoing the most and need of the hour issue
“Gender Equality” based on the data collected by student teachers of Gulbarga City. Every
individual born is entitled to certain fundamental rights. These rights shields against people who
might want to harm or hurt us and also help us to get along with each other and live in harmony.
Gender Equality is one, which lies under “Human Rights” –The Rights to Equality, Which
strongly speaks about different behaviour, aspirations and needs of women and men are
considered, valued and favoured equally for which men and women need not be become same.
The collected data showed positively believe in gender equality which every woman are
presently looking forward and also ended with suggestions to attain gender equality.
Key Words: Student Teacher, Gender Equality.
INTRODUCTION

In transforming human life, youth play an important role. Special impetus should be given to the
life and living standards of women and role of such youth in particular is direly needed for a total

uplift of youth women folk, so as to fall in the category of human rights as even now rights of
women for being discriminated by men had not been falling under the title human rights.
Constitution confers right to equality irrespective of gender, to seize every given opportunities
worldly available to mankind keeping no gender at par to accomplish gender equality which is
globally accepted and every nation bereft of its status is striving to eradicate the practice of
gender discrimination to attain gender equality in its true and literal sense.
Paradigm shift is need of the hour for over all human development. In India male domination
was predominant from ancient days, which prejudiced women’s life and until now women are
discriminated and their right despite being guaranteed by the constitution of India are curtailed
or are being deprived of for sheer lack of being ignorant of their rights which are enshrined in the
constitution of India for having remained illiterate.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
The present study points out the lacunas and discrepancies in regarding to rights to gender
equality in different walks of life and sectors. This study helps the future generation to remove
various short comings leading ultimately to lessen the gender inequality by paving way to gender
justice and rights.

A student who is learning how to teach and practice teaching for the first time.
Gender Equality- UNICEF says gender equality "means that women and men, and girls and boys, enjoy the same
rights, resources, opportunities and protections. It does not require that girls and boys, or women
and men, be the same, or that they be treated exactly alike."
Indicates that people are free to make choices without the limitations set by stereotypes and that
their various contributions and needs are valued equally.
Means that women and men have equal conditions for realizing their full human rights and for
contributing to, and benefiting from, economic, social, cultural and political development.
Gender equality is therefore the equal valuing by society of the similarities and the differences of
men and women, and the roles they play. It is based on women and men being full partners in
their home, their community and their society.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Thomas, R.E. (2013), has highlighted his paper with the state of gender based inequality in the
modern India. It has presented gender inequality with the help of some facts & figures and
representing the inequality practiced in India & its comparison with other Asian & Western
countries. Raju, E. (2014), has examined the gender discrimination in India on the basis of
demographic, social, economic and political context. The paper has broadly discussed the issue
of gender inequality, women empowerment& reproductive health among women of India. Some
measures under taken by the International and national organizations were also discussed in this
paper.
